Members of the New Konza ranching company have asked the government to probe the validity and legality of the company saying they doubt their money they bought shares may drain into individuals pockets.
Speaking to The Anchor the members said after they bought the purported company’s shares at sh2,500 late last year and early this year being promised to be allocated land, they later desperately learnt something was amiss after no land has been in existence.
The members said early this month they received sms instructing them to pay more sh50,000 per each member something which most of them have declined to abide to after noticing the company might not be genuine.
The members’ doubts grew higher after realizing that the so called directors of the company split recently after differing over the share of the already collected money.
It is alleged that the chairman by the name Mutuku was kicked out of the company by the secretary and the treasurer who took over the leadership of the company and started making collections of more money from the members unknown its fate.
Sources close to the company’s cartel indicated that the directors are out to exploit the members through collection of more money without guaranteeing payees its destiny.
The members now want government and especially KACC to intervene to rescue their money.
The angry stricken members talking to The Anchor in Nairobi, Kyumbi, Machakos and Emali, now want the refund of their money.
The company’s two offices in Machakos town and Kyumbi market on the Nairobi /Mombasa road have failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt where the purported land is as only clerks in such offices say the directors know where the land is.
Efforts by the members to get in touch with the said directors have been futile.
Since the said company started its operations last year, its said to have collected millions and millions of shillings which have not been accounted for.
The members now want the company to account for the paid millions before demanding more sh50,000 from each of them.
The company is said to have recruited more than 10,000 members translating to a total collection of ksh 500million if the members risk to pay the additional money.
