Ngilu mourns St Charles Lwanga student

Gov Ngilu addresses students and teachers of St Charles Lwanga School

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has mourned a form 1 student of St Charles Lwanga High School who died last weeek. The governor drove to the school in her neighborhood  yesterday to join the school community to  mourn the student,  Master Alex Kunzu, who hails from Nuu in Mwingi Central. 

Speaking to students and staff in an extra-ordinary assembly, Governor  Ngilu  said  it is very  unfortunate that the County  had lost such  a promising bright boy in whom his family and community had big hopes. She however  encouraged the school fraternity to be strong enough to bear the loss, and be on their toes to give their best in academics. 

She told her audience that healthcare which forms the second Pillar of her manifesto is set for unprecedented  improvement.  “For the first time in history, Kitui Referral hospital has all the equipment needed for various diagnosis, ranging from Ultra sound CT scanners , Ex-Ray and ECG (Electro cardiography) machines,all procured by my administration”, she said. The equipment will be used in Kitui Referral Hospital that the school  has chosen as their prefered facility for treatment. The Governor said no one should travel far distances to seem treatment  as they used to.

The school’s Principal Mr Simon Njagi expressed their gratitude to the Governor  for visiting to grieve with the school,saying a friend in need is a friend indeed.

 Njagi added that the school has adopted her phrase, *Kitui mbee nzei* and is even putting the boys in a forward move. 

 He said the boy will be buried on Tuesday in Mwingi central.
