Three students from South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) were killed this evening when a motorbike they were riding rammed into the rear of a stationary lorry.

The trio, all first year students,died on the spot, with the motorbike left stuck on the wheels of the truck.

The students were from KwaVonza(KV) and hit the lorry at 9.30 pm .

The lorry that had brought in supplies to the university for an SDA Student Association church construction.

The 3 students are all students from the main campus at KV, and they were riding their own motorbike.

Earlier reports indicated that two of the students are from the main campus at Kwa Vonza, while the other is  from the Kitui Town learning centre
The accident occurred along the Kwa Vonza-Kitui road. Reports indicate the crash happened as the motorcycle attempted to avoid hitting the truck.
Eyewitness accounts suggest the motorcycle was speeding before it crashed into the rear of the lorry.
Authorities have since moved the bodies to the morgue.
