Pathologists today performed an autopsy on Dominic Munuve, the Machakos Town bouncer who was fatally shot in a bar brawl.

Speaking to the Media after a briefing with the pathologist, Munuve’s family announced they had accepted postmortem findings confirming he died from multiple gunshot wounds.
This comes as fresh details emerged about the main suspect in the killing.
Former Machakos Deputy Mayor who is also Munuve’s uncle, Peter Kioko Thuva, said the examination established that the victim died as a result of fatal gunshots.
He described Munuve as the family’s breadwinner and called on authorities to ensure justice is served, saying the loss has left a deep wound in the family.
As the family mourns, The Anchor has established that the main suspect in the killing is an accomplished and licensed firearm holder.
The suspect, identified as Kennedy Mutie Mbithi, was reportedly licensed to carry a gun about two decades ago. He hails from Makaveti area of Kalama Sub County where he is little known.
Mbithi is also a director of a Nairobi-based firm, Greenbuck Construction Company of P.O. Box 4040–00700, Nairobi.
His white Toyota Land Cruiser pickup is detained at the Machakos Police Station.
Sources further told The Anchor that the suspect is currently admitted at Machakos Level 5 Hospital, in the special ward, bed 124, where he is receiving treatment under armed police guard.
The case has renewed scrutiny on gun licensing and accountability, with the Munuve family insisting that the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting must be fully investgated to verify if their kin’s action that night was sufficient trigger the extent of the violence meted against him.
The shooting was precipitate by a decision by Munuve to evict a woman who had accompanied Mr Mbithi from Jam Rest Club on the early hours of Christmas Day.
Eyewitnesses allege that Mbithi was shot three times in the ensuing commotion and died on the spot.
On Monday, the woman, Anne Mueni Muthama was taken to court as a suspect but did not take plea because the main suspect was reportedly indisposed.
They will remain in custody till January 5,2026 when they are expected to answer to a murder charge.
