The charge sheet alleges that the five, jointly with others not before court, murdered Mbobu on September 9, 2025, at approximately 7.30pm along Magadi Road in Karen, within Lang’ata Sub-County, Nairobi.
The case marks the second murder prosecution facing Rose Mbithe and her two children, who are also charged in connection with the killing of Dr Victoria Mutiso.

The charge enters into record for Rose and her children as being the only known close family members to face to parallel murder charges for offences that took place one year apart.
The prosecution further informed the court of its intention to charge Police Inspector Kenneth Sang in connection with Mbobu’s murder.
Sang was arrested in Eldoret and presented before the Milimani Law Courts on Monday.
The court authorised his continued detention for 14 days to allow the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to complete its investigations.
Until his death, Mbobu was a prominent advocate of the High Court, university lecturer and author.
The court directed the prosecution to file an affidavit opposing the accused persons’ release on bond and scheduled November 24, 2026, for the hearing of the bond application.
