From Wambua Love in Mbooni
Residents of Mukuku village in Mbooni East were left in shock yesterday after a mysterious metallic object fell from the sky, landing with a loud bang.
The circular object, described as having a silver and black hue, was hot to the touch upon landing. Observers believe it may have broken off from a larger structure, such as an aircraft engine or a satellite. Bolt-like marks on its surface suggest it was once attached to another object.
The descent was accompanied by a strange noise, and its impact created a small crater in the bushy, unsettled area where it landed. Villagers living as far as 50 kilometres away reported hearing the loud noise generated by the crash.
Nduluku Chief James Matenge and a group of local residents visited the site shortly after the incident. Police officers were later deployed to secure the area and guard the object.
By the time of reporting, authorities were yet to confirm the origin or nature of the object. Investigations are ongoing.
