Four men were today sentenced to life imprisonment by a Kyuso court after being convicted of violently robbing a man of Sh900,000 in a daring broad-daylight attack in Kamuwongo.

The four — Aron Macharia, Ben Batha, Amos Mutuku and Alex Kamwaki Kilonzo — were charged with robbery with violence contrary to Section 295 as read with Section 296(2) of the Penal Code.
The charge states that on February 21, 2024, at about 4.18pm, the four, acting together, robbed Peter Kamami Mwasi of Sh900,000 and a black bag valued at Sh1,500.

The prosecution proved that the accused were armed with dangerous weapons, including crowbars and a toy pistol, when they confronted Mwasi in Kamuwongo Town, Kamuwongo Location, Kyuso Sub-County.
The charge sheet identifies Mwasi as the complainant and lists five prosecution witnesses — Mwasi, Jacob Wachira, Ashia Karimi, Maureen Mwende and IP Moses Mbalwe.
The convicts were arrested on February 21, 2024, and brought before court the following day.
Kyuso Senior Principal Magistrate Paul Mayova who presided over the proceedings said the state had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt, hence his pronouncement of the life sentences.
