Mutito Member of Parliament Kiema Kilonzo has decried intimidation of National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) members who defect from the Wiper Democratic Movement Kenya Party by being arrested on flimsy charges.

Kiema accused Wiper party leader vice president Kalonzo Musyoka of using government agents to intimidate NARC members.
He said the recent arrest of NARC’s candidate for Mwingi North Parliamentary seat Mutati Nzoka police officers is trying to intimidate the candidate who was Kalonzo’s point man in Mwingi but defected to Charity Ngilu’s NARC.
The legislator has urged the government that it should not allow to be used to criminalize defection as defection is a democratic right of every politician and Kenyan. He added that another person in Mwingi by the name of Musyimi was arrested on grounds of causing public disturbance after defecting from Wiper party to NARC.
He called upon the Wiper Party to respect the constitution and stop intimidating NARC members and at the same time accept fair challenge.
Mutati Nzoka was arrested on claims of issuing bouncing cheques. Kiema also urged the government to resolve the stalemate between the striking teachers so that children can resume with education.
Kiema also insisted that Fenxi mining company does not exist and that some of Wiper Democratic Movement members are involved in the scam and should respect the people of Mui basin. He called upon the permanent secretary in the ministry of Energy to resign because he has interest in the mining project.
He added that the recent tour of China by selected journalists from Kenya was a plot to hide the scandal to fleece people of Mui basin their resources. Kiema said he will not rest until the people of Mui basin get the controlling shares in any event which is going to happen in the coal mining in the region. Kiema was speaking during the close of a three day workshop for candidates seeking parliamentary, senate and governor seat from Machakos, Makueni and Kitui Counties at Maanzoni Lodge in Machakos.
